JetAlliance Offers Plan for DayJet Eclipse 500sApril 2, 2009
While various entrepreneurs have tried to buy and resell the 28
Eclipse 500 very light jets that were flown by bankrupt air-taxi
firm DayJet, none has succeeded. Now Randall Sanada, chairman of
aircraft charter and management firm JetAlliance of Westlake
Village, Calif., has proposed a new way to market those jets, still
owned by UT Finance, a subsidiary of United Technologies.

JetAlliance, a California-based shared jet ownership company, is
scheduled to take delivery of its next new Eclipse 500 jet this
month. The aircraft (serial #84) will fly in conjunction with serial
#1. JetAlliance took delivery of the world’s first production very
light jet (VLJ) at the end of last year. As a co-owner
of the first VLJ, Randall Sanada, JetAlliance chairman, appreciates the
efficiency of this category of aircraft. “Instead of VLJ, perhaps it
should be known as
V-E-J for very efficient jet.”

After final certification, expected later this month, the first plane off the production line, designated as Number 0001, will be delivered to JetAlliance, a California fractional-jet ownership company.
