The aircraft (serial #84) will fly in conjunction with serial #1. By Joe Sharkey.  The first deliveries of very light jets are imminent, as Eclipse Aviation received provisional federal certification last week for its new Eclipse 500 aircraft. After final certification, expected later this month, the first plane off the production line, designated as Number 0001, will be delivered to Jet-Alliance, a California fractional-jet ownership company.

Eclipse is one of a handful of companies making four- to six-seat short-haul jets. Eclipse said it had received about 2,500 orders.  Read more...
